In the period of 2007-2008, EU reformed its marketing standards system of fresh fruit and vegetable.
In this context the list of fresh products that are subjects of special marketing standards were reduced to 10 (apples, peaches, pears, strawberry, sweet pepper, table grapes, tomatoes, citrus, kiwi and chicory). Starting with July 1st, 2009 for these products will be applied the marketing standards introduced by the EU Regulation 1221/2009. Full version of this document may be found in full on the EUR-Lex. Peaches & Nectarines
For all other products is required to follow up the general standard of marketing. Additionally, it is recommended to adequacy standards adopted by the Economic Commission for Europe of Organization for United Nations (UNECE).
